Formerly
Werchick & Werchick, a California law corporation, the law office
founded by Jack Werchick (1913-2001) is now the solo practice of Arne
Werchick whose prior appointments include Presiding Arbitrator of the
State Bar of California, president of the California Trial Lawyers
Association, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at Hastings College
of the Law, and Administrative Law Judge pro
tem.
He is also the author of Civil
Jury Selection,
and many other publications and has over forty years private practice
experience as a civil litigator. After a four decade litigation
career, he no longer represents private clients and now provides
legal services exclusively through public service organizations.
Jack
Werchick was the author of California
Preparation and Trial,
for two decades considered by many litigation attorneys to be the
preeminent book on trial practice in California. For many years a
professor on the adjunct faculty at Hastings College of the Law and
named an Alumnus of the Year of Hastings College, Jack Werchick was
the first faculty member to be honored by Hastings College with the
title "Emeritus
Adjunct
Professor."
